Dear MSCA Members:

By now, everyone should have received a letter from my office concerning the developments in the contract funding process that took place during the week of June 20th. On June 24th, the parties executed a memorandum of agreement concerning the concessions sought by the Executive Office of Administration and Finance; this memorandum was hand-delivered to the Chancellor's Office on the same day. Both the letter and the memorandum have been posted on the MSCA website mscaunion.org.

Since that date, we have received no information as to the status of the funding request for our contract and no information as to when we should expect a decision to be made and communicated to us. In light of this situation, the MSCA Bargaining Committee will hold an emergency meeting as soon as possible to develop strategies to recommend to the MSCA Board of Directors to secure funding for the contract.

One personal note -- I am experiencing some difficulty with my AOL email account. Should you ever send me an email message and not receive a response within 72 hours, please do not hesitate to contact my office directly (978-542-7282). The voice mail at that number is checked every business day throughout the year.
