Dear MSCA Members:

The report of the Joint Committee for the Study of Salaries (Article XIII, Section M of the 2004-07 contract) has completed the final draft of its report to the parties to the contract. The report is currently being prepared for printing and distribution.

By agreement of the members of the Committee, the report will be presented to the State College Council of Presidents at its meeting of September 8th and to the MSCA Board of Directors at its meeting of September 8th. No release or discussion of the report's findings or recommendations will occur prior to that date. At the September 8th meeting, the MSCA Board will determine the best method to distribute the report to the entire membership.

Any MSCA member in good standing may attend the September 8th Board meeting, which will be held in Room 309 in the McCarthy Campus Center at Framingham State College, beginning at 10:00 am. Early in September, a time-specific agenda for the Board meeting will be posted on the MSCA's website, which will include the approximate time for the report to be presented at the meeting.

On behalf of the MSCA, I want to thank CJ O'Donnell (MSCA Vice President), Paul McGee (Salem) and Donna Sirutis (MTA) for their representation of the faculty and librarians on this important committee. Representatives of management included Peter Martel (Bridgewater), David Caruso (Worcester), Nicholas Wojtowicz (Westfield), Mark Peters, Esq., and Frederick Clark, Esq. Special recognition goes to CJ O'Donnell and Peter Martel who prepared all of the statistical analyses that formed the basis for the committee's work.
